"Beautiful landscape"
4 night business visit due to job meetings in the area. The hotel is médium size with separate buildings. There is a terrace in the back that has to be lovely in spring and summer. Rooms are Big, well equipped and free wifi. Beds are confortable. Excelent breakfast. The restaurant is a really good option if yoy don't want to take the car. Sorroundings are beautiful, with a little channel, lots of ducks, trees and a peat line train that ends next to the hotel. You Will need a car if you want to move around because it's away from the city center.

"Decent to good hotel"
Great and quiet location. We had not trouble finding the hotel with satellite navigation. Also the roadsigns are easy to see and direct you to the hotel. No problem there. The hotel itself is nice, breakfast was good. We had a room in the secondary building. The room itself could do with a little extra cleaning. The curtains were kind of dirty and there were a lot of dead insects in the shower and bathroom. The bed and mattress however, was great! Which is the most important thing in a hotel to me. We booked the hotel together with the Wildlands Zoo which resulting in a fair price for the stay.

"Super Hotel"
This was our fifth stay in the Hampshire Green Meets Hotel. There is nothing to fault. We had a ground floor room in the Main building with views all around of the golf course. The room and bathroom was large and very clean. My only negative comment would be the hard mattress, but my partner had no complaints. The breakfast was basic but sufficient. We did not eat in the restaurant this trip and neither did we make use of the Wellness facilities.

"Need a reason"
Either golf or a meeting can bring you to this hotel. Even with a Satnav not so easy to find. But it is worth the try. The room was spacious and well designed. No complaints about hygiene and everything worked as it should.

"Hidden Gem"
Location - quiet and relaxing, golf course and woodland are very scenic. Hotel - Modern and elegant, nice rooms with loads of natural light, gym is limited 3 cardio and 1 resistance machine, large modern spa inc steam room and sauna (very nice), treatment rooms for massage etc, Restaurant - good, small but refined menu with fresh local ingredients, very accommodating / almost encouraging of off piste choices, nice selection of Dutch beers. Staff - brilliant, arrived late and was greeted by name and was looked after from the word go, lent me clubs one evening to swing on the driving range, recommended things to do in area, very friendly and helpful indeed. Very reasonably priced, very happy with my stay, is my first choice for hotels. This area now.

Drenthe

Art and culture

The province of Drenthe has a rich cultural history. The Hunebedcentrum in Borger on the Drentse Hondsrug will take you back in time. The first farmers in Drenthe built impressive stone burial monuments, whose remains can be admired in the Drenthe landscape. The largest ‘hunebed’ (megalith) is right next to the visitor’s centre. On your way through the green province you will encounter stately manor houses and country estates, picturesque villages with village squares and thatched farmhouses.

Drenthe’s peat-moor history comes to life in the Veenpark in Barger-Compascuum, near Emmen. In this park you can drive, walk and sail through nostalgic villages and a natural peat-bog area with real peat harvesting. The baker, clog-maker and peat-cutter do their work every day. The Drents Museum in Assen organises high-profile exhibitions of archaeology, figurative art, art nouveau/art deco and Drenthe’s cultural history. Pay a visit to the Netherlands’ largest doll’s house.
